Common Questions

Geelong Handyman
FAQ.

Straight answers about our Geelong handyman services, pricing and estimates, and what to expect when you book. Don't see your question? Give us a call or send a message.

All estimates are free and there's no obligation. Tell us what handyman work you need done, send a message or give us a call and we'll give you a fair and reasonable idea of expected cost. For most jobs we can advise over the phone or from photos. Larger or more involved work we'll come out and assess in person.

For most jobs, we just charge you an hourly rate. That way you only pay for how long the job actually takes + materials used. Given our experience we can generally estimate the hours involved in a task quite accurately. If the job goes easily with no surprises or troubles, you pay less. If difficulties arise that make extra work, then you pay for the extra time required.

The difference between an estimate and a quote is that if you request a quote, then you are asking for a firm price. For any contractor or supplier to give you a firm price, they must allow for any unforeseen extras or difficulties that might arise. This adds extra to the price. Many contractors will then work as fast as they can to ensure they make good money on your job, and this can lead to substandard results.

We're based in Geelong and cover the entire Greater Geelong region, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast. That includes suburbs like Belmont, Highton, Newtown, Grovedale, Waurn Ponds, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, Torquay, Lara, Clifton Springs, Drysdale, Leopold and everywhere in between. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, just ask.

Yes, we hold full public liability and Workcover insurance. You're covered on every job we do, residential or commercial. We're happy to provide a certificate of currency if your strata, body corporate or business requires it. We also have current Worksafe White Cards and Working With Children Card. All available to view on request.

It depends on the job. Smaller, well-defined work like tap repairs or TV mounting can often be just a minimum callout (1 hour). Larger or more variable work (garden clean-ups, multi-day projects) can be estimated after we've seen the site. We're always upfront about cost before we start and you'll never get a surprise bill from us.

Yes, small jobs are welcome. Fixing a leaking tap, hanging a picture, changing light globes, assembling a flat pack, we do it all. If it matters to you, it matters to us. You can browse our services page for the full list, or check out our recent work in the gallery.

Just ask. The services listed on our site are the most common things we do, but we handle a wide range of handyman and maintenance work. If it's something we don't do, we'll tell you honestly and might be able to recommend someone who can help. Get in touch and tell us what you need.

Most jobs can be scheduled within a few days. Urgent things like leaking taps or safety-related repairs we can often fit in sooner, call us and we'll do our best to get to you quickly. Larger projects may need a bit more lead time but we'll give you a clear timeline when we quote.

For outdoor work like lawn mowing, pressure cleaning or garden maintenance, you don't need to be home, as long as we have access. For indoor work, you can be home to let us in if you prefer or you can leave a key out or arrange another way for us to have access. We're happy to work around your schedule and we always leave the place clean and tidy.
